Rézler Gyula ösztöndíj (Department of Central European Studies, Indiana University , Bloomington, USA)

A Rézler Gyula Alapítvány ezen ösztöndíja, posztgraduális szociológiai tanulmányokat támogat az Egyesült Államokban: Central Eurasian Studies Department , Indiana University-n, Bloomingtonban. A 35 évnél fiatalabb pályázónak magas fokú angol nyelvtudással kell rendelkeznie és előnyben részesülnek azok a jelentkezők, akik PhD fokozat megszerzését tervezik.  Az ösztöndíj mértéke: 5000 USD.  Jelentkezési határidő: 2013 október 1.

The Julius Rezler Foundation invites applicants for a scholarship to study and conduct research at the Department of Central European Studies, Indiana University , Bloomington. The scholarship is offered for one person, for the spring semester of the academic year 2013/2014, and runs for four months.

Hungarian citizens having a university degree, under age 35, are eligible to apply. The subject of the application is expected to be related to the interdisciplinary studies of labour. Preference will be given to studying and analysing .

  • the current developments in the world of work;
  • industrial relations and employment relationship;
  • conflicts, labour disputes and their resolutions;
  • the changing nature of production, with a special view to the shift from blue to white collar work;
  • innovations in work organization and working conditions;
  • employment and unemployment trends and their social impact.

High level English skill is mandatory. Preference will be given to applicants who are planning to acquire an academic degree (PhD) in Hungary.

The amount of the grant (stipend) is 5.000 USD, which is supplemented by a health insurance provided by the receiving party. Note, travel costs and accommodation need to be covered by the Rezler Fellow. Visa expenses will be reimbursed by the Foundation.

Applicants need to submit the following documents to the Foundation via mail (Julius Rezler Foundation – 1111 Budapest, Egry József Street 1, Room: 709, Tel.: +36-20-523-5553) and in electronic form via e-mail: secretary@rezler-foundation.hu

  • a short CV (Hungarian and English), including information about the applicant’s social background
  • a research plan for the proposed project (max. 2 pages, Hungarian and English)
  • a list of publications (Hungarian and English)

Applicants are requested to clearly indicate the title of their research, the name of the chosen American university, (or the letter of the application type) and their names on all attached documents.

Application deadline: October 1, 2013

The receipt of the applications will be acknowledged by the Foundation. The most promising candidates will be invited for a personal interview, where they can present their academic abilities and research plan, and prove their language skills in English. The interviews will be held during the week starting October 14th.

Within one week after the interviews, the Curatorium will inform the candidates about their final decision. (Particular justifications will not be provided.)

After returning from the United States, the successful scholars are requested to write a technical report (in Hungarian or English) about their work and accomplishments that will be published on the homepage of the Foundation.
