Newly devised for 2011, the RIBA Goldfinger Travel Scholarship aims to support Hungarian students and young architects, through offering an experience that will benefit their academic or professional work.
Deadline for submissions: 13 June 2011
The Scholarship has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the estate of late Hungarian-born architect Ernö Goldfinger. Their intention was to honour the achievements of Ernö Goldfinger; his commitment to his profession, and his life-long support for his compatriots.
A Scholarship of £2,500 will fund UK-based research on a topic and at locations of the applicant’s choosing, and will be available from July 2011.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be under the age of 35 and be Hungarian nationals. The scholarship is open to current students or graduates in the fields of Architecture, Art or associated disciplines.
Applicants are asked to submit a detailed travel proposal and personal statement. A committee, which includes a representative from the Goldfinger family, will consider all applications and make one award of £2,500.
