Central European University (CEU) and the Open Society Roma Initiatives are pleased to announce
scholarship opportunities for the academic year 2012/2013 for an 8-month-long intensive English language training at CEU in Budapest, Hungary. The program will run from the middle of September 2012 through to the end of May 2013.

This year, up to five highly prestigious full scholarships, worth £25,000 each, will be awarded to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee; celebrate the true spirit of British business and mark Henley Business School’s contribution to developing leaders across the globe. The scholarships are jointly funded by the business school and organisations that Henley works in partnership with.

Örkény István születésének századik évfordulója alkalmából a Margó Városi Irodalmi Fesztivál és a Daazo.com – European Short Film Centre a Bookline-nal együttműködésben kisfilmpályázatot hirdet “Egy perc, egy történet” címmel. “Örkény az anyanyelvünkké vált” – a pályázat során a velünk élő Örkényt keressük, hogyan, milyen formában élnek még mindig velünk azok a groteszk és abszurd helyzetek, amelyekre Örkény novellái irányították rá a figyelmünket. Hogyan értik, hogyan látják, hogyan láttatják a mai fiatalok a 100 éves Örkény gondolatait?

A call for application for “Contemporary Dance Night (2)”, “Weve got MORE”. “Contemporary Dance Night (2)” is continuing and developing our “Celebration of Existence and Differences” which was held on October 12th and 13th 2011 at the first “Contemporary Dance Night”; it is a set of dance-shows that aim to familiarize and develop the art of contemporary dance in Egypt; the event is planned to take place 6-11 September 2012 in Cairo and 20-21 November 2012 in Alexandria with contribution of young artists of different backgrounds, styles and approaches; an attempt to expose the audience to different styles and forms of the art of Contemporary Dance.

The prefix ‘trans’ means to go beyond, get across, cross, exchange, change and convert. The Residence Program provides a time and place for artists to experience new encounters and carry out experiments to guide their their future projects. Participating artists are expected to bring new ideas to the local culture and people while they, in turn, will hopefully acquire new perspectives through these fresh encounters. As a result of the residence program, the artists will convey their new experiences, gathered from the local lifestyle and our particular geographic situation, to their next destination. We hope that the residence program at Akiyoshidai International Art Village becomes a space for artists to go beyond cultural borders and expand their outlooks, exchange their unique understandings and establish relationships with fellow artists.

Open Call for Artist In Residence & Exhibition Proposals. 2013 AIR Taipei Open Call has started! AIR Taipei offers 2 sites for international artists to develop and conduct their projects of art at Taipei Artist Village(TAV) and Treasure Hill Artist Village(THAV) in Taipei City, Taiwan. TAV locates in the city centre where the artists can easily access and expand their network. THAV sits in the unique conservation area with a cluster of historical buildings and artists get the privilege to explore in the communal village of arts and heritage.
