Pályázat egyetemistáknak az egységes európai piacról

A Külügyminisztérium egyetemista fiatalok pályaműveit várja az egységes európai piac létrejöttének 20. évfordulójára megvalósuló rendezvények első állomásaként. A pályázók – magyar vagy angol nyelven írt – esszéiket 2012. szeptember 15-ig nyújthatják be. A nyertes négyhetes külügyminisztériumi gyakornoki lehetőséget kap, amelynek ideje alatt Győri Enikő államtitkár kíséretének tagjaként részt vehet az Általános Ügyek Tanácsának brüsszeli ülésén.

2012 végén az egységes európai piac létrejöttének 20. évfordulóját ünnepeljük. 1993. január 1-jén eltűntek az áruk, a szolgáltatások, a személyek és a tőke mozgásának korlátai az Európai Unióban és létrejött az egységes piac. Az azóta eltelt 20 évben az unióban közel 2,8 millió új munkahely létesült. A belső piac napjainkban is nagyban hozzájárul a versenyképes Európai Unió megteremtéséhez.

Az Egységes Piac 20. évfordulójára a Külügyminisztérium pályázatot hirdet magyarországi felsőoktatási intézményekben tanuló egyetemistáknak. Pályázni angol vagy magyar nyelven írt pályaművekkel lehet, 2012. szeptember 15-ig.

A legjobb pályaműveket benyújtó egyetemisták meghívást kapnak a Külügyminisztérium és az Európai Bizottság Magyarországi Képviseletének közös, az „Egységes Piaci Hét” keretében megvalósuló hivatalos rendezvényére.

A pályázat nyertese négyhetes külügyminisztériumi gyakorlatra kap lehetőséget, és egy alkalommal, Győri Enikő államtitkár kíséretének tagjaként részt vehet az Általános Ügyek Tanácsának brüsszeli ülésén.

„Internal Market – What has it for Europe? What has it for me?”

The internal market is one of the key concepts of the European Union.
Its aim is to remove barriers to the free movement of goods, persons, services and capital between the EU Member States, thereby establishing a market in the EU in which traditional barriers would be absent.

In the midst of economic and financial crisis the European internal market is facing several challenges. Nonetheless its potential in terms of growth and jobs is incontestable.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary hereby launches a competition designed specifically for enrolled and active students at any Hungarian higher education institution on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Single Market Programme launched in 1992.

Applicants are requested to submit a short study of maximum 2000 words assessing the challenges of the European internal market and its influence on the everyday life of European citizens. The applicants shall present ideas on how to address these challenges at European level. The applications can be submitted either in English or in Hungarian, in the latter case a short summary of 150 words in English is requested.

The subject is intentionally designed to test the creative and analytical skills of the applicants.

The closing date for submission is 15 September 2012. All essays are to be sent to the following address: internalmarketessay@mfa.gov.hu.

The judging panel will be made up from officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary. They will assess the applicants on a range of professional skills, such as creative thinking and academic awareness.

Ten finalists will be selected and invited to participate at the Single Market Week in Budapest in October 2012. The winner of the competition will be offered a four-week internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The internship includes a trip to Brussels with the Minister of State for European Affairs to take part at a session of the General Affairs Council.
